In this class you’ll make a small book with a wrapped cover. Inside is an accordion folded structure which forms the book’s pages. You can decorate the pages in any way you’d like. The supply list has some suggestions.

Supply List

The finished book is 2.75 x 3.75 with a wrapped cover.

Participants, please bring:

  • Glue – Any glue you like, white glue like Elmer’s works great. If you have a smallish old brush (half inch to an inch wide), you can use it to spread your glue.
  • Otherwise, you can use the tip of the glue bottle to apply and spread the glue.
  • An old credit card or other plastic card. I’ll bring a few extra.
  • About 22” of skinny ribbon, yarn, or string. I will also bring some.
  • If you have paper you want to use as a cover, the cover measurement is 8.75’ x 5”. You probably want your string or ribbon to coordinate. I will also bring paper cut to size for covers if you want to use that. Examples:
  • For page decoration, little pictures, collage elements, watercolor, paint, words, or anything you’d like to put on your pages.
  • Magazine pages cut to 1.5” x 2.5” leave a nice border of white after you glue them on. Food magazines, fashion magazines, shelter magazines, and art magazines are good choices.
  • You can also leave the pages blank for future inspiration.

These materials will be provided:

  • Watercolor paper cut to size and scored to fold for your pages.
  • Black cardstock cut to size to stiffen your cover.
  • Pre-cut covers, unless you want to use your own.
