Create a Fused Glass Garden stake to add some sparkle to your spring garden or flower pot. Create a beautiful addition to your own yard or a wonderful “personalized” gift, just in time for Mother’s Day?
This beginner level glass fusion class will cover some glass basics, discuss some techniques, and each participant will create a fused glass garden stake with metal rod. Materials and tools included in class fee. Good glass cutting takes practice, so garden stakes will be created and
decorated primarily with ‘pattern’ pieces and parts. Some ideas and examples will be provided.
The Garden stake will be fired and available for pick up at the Farm Gift Shop during business hours on Saturday and Sunday. The instructor will email participants when they are ready to pick up. Projects could well be available to pick up in time for Mother’s Day gifting on Sunday. Glass firing and cooling takes approx. 24 hours.
Trish Radford started working in glass in 2005, after a lifetime of fascination with glasswork. She got her first kiln in 2010 and she hasn’t stopped exploring the many ideas that pop into her head, or learning new techniques in glass art. She currently teaches the “Science of Art” at the Museum of Glass and her art sells in the Johnson Farm Giftshop and the Museum of Glass Gift Store.
Class size is limited. Register soon by emailing andersonislandarts@gmail.com by Monday, May 1st.
