This beginner-level glass fusion class will cover some glass fusing basics, and basic cutting, and each participant will create a fused glass tile or a treat plate. Treat plates *do* require a second fusing process, therefore an additional fee is required if you choose to make it into a treat plate. You may also choose to make it into a “suncatcher/window decoration”, at no additional fee.

Just come with some fun, simple ideas in your head or simple sketches, or get inspired by one of the examples in class. Good glass cutting takes practice, so these will be built mainly from pieces and parts, and simple designs. Spooktacular Halloween glass colors will be made available along with fun pre-made parts and pieces as always.

The glass artwork will be fired and available for pick up at the Farm Gift Shop during business hours or by special appointment with the instructor. The instructor will email participants when they are fired and ready to pick up, please be sure to check your email for further instructional information. Glass firing and cooling takes approx. 24 hours. The additional firing will require additional time.

Trish Radford started working in glass in 2005 with a bead-making class, after a lifetime of fascination with glasswork. She got her first kiln in 2010 and she hasn’t stopped exploring the many ideas that pop into her head or learning new techniques in glass art. She sells her artwork in the Museum of Glass in Tacoma and at shows throughout the Northwest.
